Academic Legal Advice Centre

www.akademickaporadniaprawna.pl

Counsellors working at the Centre – final-year students, graduates and doctoral candidates from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw – provide free legal advice in typical academic matters (e.g. university regulations, rules of financial aid), as well as in civil law, family and guardianship law, labour law and administrative law.

The Centre addresses its offer to students of Warsaw universities. The prerequisite for the provision of advice is the possession of a valid student ID card or other document certifying student status.

The UW Law Clinic, or Student Legal Aid Centre at the UW’s Faculty of Law and Administration, is a team of final-year students who provide free legal advice to persons in financial difficulties. The Clinic has sections for labour law, civil law, criminal law (“victims of violence and discrimination”, “pre-trial detainees”, “harm reduction”, “innocence”), human rights (“refugees”), medical law (“civil”, “criminal and professional liability”), and administrative law.

Legal assistance is provided by students, whose work is supervised by coordinators – persons with experience in legal consultation.
