Counsellors working at the Centre – final-year students, graduates and doctoral candidates from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw – provide free legal advice in typical academic matters (e.g. university regulations, rules of financial aid), as well as in civil law, family and guardianship law, labour law and administrative law.
The Centre addresses its offer to students of Warsaw universities. The prerequisite for the provision of advice is the possession of a valid student ID card or other document certifying student status.

UW Law Clinic

The UW Law Clinic, or Student Legal Aid Centre at the UW’s Faculty of Law and Administration, is a team of final-year students who provide free legal advice to persons in financial difficulties. The Clinic has sections for labour law, civil law, criminal law (“victims of violence and discrimination”, “pre-trial detainees”, “harm reduction”, “innocence”), human rights (“refugees”), medical law (“civil”, “criminal and professional liability”), and administrative law.
Legal assistance is provided by students, whose work is supervised by coordinators – persons with experience in legal consultation. The Law Clinic provides an opportunity for students to gain practical skills in providing advice to clients and solving legal problems, and for those in financial difficulties to receive free assistance. Appointments can be made in person, by email or telephone.

Center for Dispute and Conflict Resolution at the UW’s Faculty of Law and Administration

It is a centre using mediation techniques and other amicable dispute resolution methods. Its aim is to promote a culture of conflict resolution. The CDCR team conducts education and research activities as well as practice in mediation, moderation and conflict management, including free academic mediation with UW employees and students in disputes arising from work and study at the university.
