Mental health crisis
Some situations call for immediate action. If you observe distressing symptoms in yourself or another person, such as disproportionate agitation, loss of logical thinking skills or the desire to harm yourself/themselves or others, reach for help immediately by calling the University’s emergency number (22 55 22 112) or the national emergency number (112 or 999).

How can you get support?
Student zone
Those wishing to receive support from the UW Psychological and Counselling Services Centre can come in person, without appointment, to the Psychological Consulting Desk, from Monday to Thursday between 10.00am and 2.00pm.
Consultations in English take place on Tuesdays between 2.00pm and 4.00pm and on Wednesdays between 10.00am and 2.00pm.
Consultations in Ukrainian take place on Tuesdays between 2.00pm and 4.00pm.
The Psychological Consulting Desk is located at the Ochota Campus at Ludwika Pasteura 7, 1st floor, room 108.
Please bring your ID or student card. Only those with active student status can benefit from the PCSC.
The first consultation at the consulting desk is carried out by a psychologist/psychotherapist who will help to identify the nature of the problem and suggest further forms of assistance within the PCSC or referral to external specialist centres.
Prior to the consultation, the applicant fills in an application sheet, consent for the processing of personal data and documents necessary for psychological support.

The first meeting is aimed at diagnosing your needs and matching you with an appropriate form of support within the PCSC or indicating specialist external centres.
Prior to the consultation, we will ask you to complete an application sheet, consent for the processing of personal data and documents necessary to take advantage of the PCSC offer.

When to get help?
The Psychological Consulting Desk is the first point of contact with the PCSC specialist(s).
It is a good idea to come to the Psychological Consulting Desk if you feel that the situation you are in is beyond your ability to cope on your own.
If you observe worrying symptoms in yourself, such as:
- difficulties with motivation;
- restlessness, anxiety;
- marked weakening of concentration;
- impulsiveness, irritability, aggressive behaviour;
- lack of sense of purpose and self-confidence;
- mood swings;
- loss of control over eating;
- increased body tension;
- turning to psychoactive substances or alcohol in stressful situations;
- suicidal or resignation thoughts; or you have experienced or witnessed a traumatic situation;
- you are worried about your family situation;
- you have experienced the loss of a loved one,
come and talk to a specialist who can help you identify the nature of your difficulties and select appropriate forms of support.
You can also come to the PCSC Psychological Consulting Desk if you want to improve the way you function at the University.
Thanks to our proposals for development and prevention, you will get to know yourself better, learn effective ways of coping with difficulties and establish new relationships. A consultation at the Psychological Consulting Desk will help you to pinpoint the problem and select effective tools.
Examples of problems we can support you with are:
- feeling lonely or alienated in an academic environment;
- being overwhelmed by excessive responsibilities, procrastination, striving for perfection;
- difficulty adapting to academic life;
- setting priorities.
